During several recent years we saw quite a lot of movies dedicated to medieval theme. Some of the were good enough while most of these fantasy-historic films were explicitly bad. Season of the Witch belongs to the good movies of that genre not only because of the great cast (two main characters are played by Nicolas Cage and Ron Perlman) but also because amazing unpredictable plot and absolutely stunning backgrounds which make it look truly epic. The action take place sometimes in the middle of dark ages when two crusaders return home only to find it ravaged by great plague. They get a mission to escort young woman accused in witchcraft in some distant monastery to find the source of the plague.
