In one of the great movies about coming of age, Submarine has an offbeat edge that appeals to audiences of all ages. Oliver Tate is a 15-year-old boy with big goals. First, he wants to lose his virginity before he turns 16. He has his sights set on his classmate Jordana, a pyromaniac that controls his journal entries. She will go so far as to make his cross things out that he wrote about her. Second, he is going to singlehandedly save his parent’s marriage by charting the dimmer switch in their bedroom and forging love letters.
